MICHAEL CORRADO
Mike Corrado has been a photographer for over 33 years and has recently celebrated his 28th anniversary with Nikon USA. As the Manager of Nikon Professional Services Product Marketing, Mike’s extensive career has included time as a Nikon School instructor, Pro Markets Technical Representative and Sr. Product Manager for digital SLR cameras.

Mike has had the great fortune of training, working with and shooting for some of the world’s greatest photographers while contributing his own still images and video capture globally within Nikon for product promotion, educational materials, product brochures and Nikon’s USA web site. Several Nikon education DVDs that Mike has produced have won top industry honors while “A Hands-on Guide to Creative Lighting” reached record sales within weeks of hitting the market and remains Nikon’s greatest selling DVD of all time. After product managing the launch of cameras like the D3/D3S, D300/D300S and a host of NIKKOR lenses and accessories, Mike moved back to NPS developing programs and strategies for professional photographer relations.

Mike is also a contributing writer and photographer for Nikon World magazine. Nikon has given Mike the opportunity to travel around the world to amazing locations including Japan, Germany, South Africa, and Vietnam. Assignments have taken him to several Super Bowls, World Series and Indy 500 races. He has covered the Kentucky Derby for 14 of 16 years and worked locally with the New York Mets, NY Jets and other local professional sports teams. Mike has spent the last several years working on his rock and roll portfolio as a house photographer for Live Nation at Long Island’s Nikon at Jones Beach Theater where he has had access to shooting over 100 name bands including the Police, Aerosmith, the Dave Matthew’s Band, Carlos Santana, Sting, Nickelback, Shinedown and more.

Mike lives on Long Island in New York with his wife, and his son and daughter off bleeding him dry at college.

“Addicted. Blessed. Lucky. I am completely connected with seeing and capturing photographs every single day. I’m excited to be a part of this business, working for one of the greatest technological leaders in photography today and working with the best shooters on the globe. I’m even luckier to be able to give back by teaching and lecturing. I’m enamored with light, watching it, studying it as it’s moving and changing constantly. Recognizing the power, natural beauty and quality of light is one of the first steps towards becoming a more accomplished photographer. The next step is to learn how to make stunning light when it doesn’t exist. It is critical that photographers learn the craft and realize that the learning process never ends. That’s the coolest part! I’ve taken a hard core sports photography approach to rock and roll photography, trying to take it to new limits every time I go out and shoot."
