| Michael Goulding has been a staff photographer at the Orange County Register since 1991. Before that he was one of the six original full-time staff photographers at The National, a bi-coastal all-sports daily newspaper. He also worked at the photo friendly Daily Breeze in Torrance and the Daily News in the San Fernando Valley. Mike recently won honorable mention for his sports portfolio in the international “Best of Photojournalism” contest in 2008. Michael has covered countless events big and small: the Pope’s tour of the United States; the Olympics in 1996 and 2008, the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York City, as well as numerous Super Bowls, World Series, and NBA Playoffs and Finals - yet he prides himself in capturing life’s smaller moments close to home. Extremely versatile, Mike also specializes in portrait photography, winning the Associated Press “Portrait of the Year” award for 2008. Michael will be covering his third Olympic Games in London this summer. He resides in Seal Beach, CA with his wife and two children.
