Sean Haffey graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1986. After working in a Freelance capacity at the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times, he joined the photo staff at the San Diego Union-Tribune in 1990 his position at the Union-Tribune has allowed him to cover sports extensively locally, nationally and internationally. He has covered three Olympic Games, Superbowls, World Series, NCAA basketball playoffs, and many Extreme athletes.

Sean lives in the Point Loma area of San Diego with his wife, two sons and dog “Dude”. When he isn’t working he enjoys surfing, skiing and mountain biking.

Working closely with many of the faculty at the Sports Shooter Academy over the years has made me a much better photographer. I always enjoy working with people with a strong desire to improve their photography.”
